Greetings dear friends!
With my wife Val, we have been away for a little time, actually we went to Canberra to visit and catch up with our grandchildren and had a great time.
When we arrived at our destination we were greeted by our eldest grandson (in Canberra) and felt the warmth of his love and something of the great pleasure in being able to see his grandparents after a very lengthy period of time.
For us it was a wonderful moment as well!
Then a short time later we met our other grandsons with the rest of the family, it was beautiful!
During our time, we not only caught up on the news of what had been happening, some events good and others not so good, such as a very bad car accident, for which we thank God everything has turned out to be alright, but we met new friends of the family.
And then we sat and shared something of mirth and fun bringing from us all absolute hilarious laughter, causing tears to simply flow from our eyes.
I felt that as we came together in this lovely home, we were able to find loving joy and in this a closeness and a binding of relationship with each other. (Better than a telephone conversation.)
I am reminded of the song we used to sing in church that has these words, "O there's joy in every heart, when there's love at home; There's a smile on every face when there's love at home! Voices have a kindly sound, Happiness beams all around, Peace and gentleness abound, when there's love at home." (Song book of The Salvation Army 664 : 1.) Anon.
A comment was made to me when I met the Corps Officer of the Salvation Army Church our family worship at during our visit, as I met him he said, "Welcome, I hope you will feel at home as you worship with us this morning!"
You know when I come to my prayer time and I speak with Jesus I feel very much at home in His presence, and there comes to my spirit a beautiful and warming loving joy. In actual fact there is really nothing else like it.
I wonder have you every had an occasion when you have had a good laugh in the presence of Jesus? Strange question you think! Well I am reminded that the joy of the Lord is my strength! In Him I find loving joy and plenteous grace. Hallelujah! I wish more Christians would find this as well.
I hope you will have a great day and in the presence of the Lord find great loving joy today!
God Bless you!
"Dear brothers and sisters, I love you and long to see you, for you are my joy and the reward of my work. So pleaee stay true to the Lord, my dear friends." Philippians 4: 1.
