Greetings Friends
You know doubt saw the news cast that spoke of the many people who are gathering at Gallipoli for the Anzac remembrance services, and even though midst all the difficulty and request for people to stay away the faithful are assembling together. I hope that this year the time shared will be meaningful and significant for all who join together at this sacred place.
I have been thinking of this place, and for many it is a sacred place, it is a place where the call to service, the call to sacrifice and the call to duty is remembered.
I give thanks to God for all who gave their lives so that we might live in peace and safety.
I used to sing a song at church that reminds me of another sacred place, a place where in fact I have actually been privileged personally to visit, here are the words; "Wonderful place called Calvary, wonderful place called Calvary, love redeeming love, love I see, at the place called Calvary." (The Salvation Army Song Book Chorus 29.)
Simple words that is true, but the reminder for me is that at Calvary, my Jesus gave His life so that I might live in peace, with God, and safety in the knowledge of sins forgiven and eternal joy assured, yes, today I again come to that sacred place and remember.
"And when they came to the place called Calvary, here they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the left and the other on the right; and He lifted up His voice and said, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do!" St. Luke 23: 33,34.
The Lord bless you in the very place you find yourself right now.
