Hello! This is!

Greetings to you dear friends!
This afternoon I took time to ring some friends I have not spoken to for a little time and it was lovely.
When the number was dialled, the ring tone was heard and then the phone answered, my opening remark was, "Hello this is Alan!"
The various responses were interesting and the feeling of worth while time was lovely within me and the coversation that followed was actually a check up of what had happened in the weeks and sometimes months that had gone since last we spoke.
How good it is when we are able to speak with friends and we share a common thread of interest with each other, we share each others joys and of course there are the times when we need to bear one anothers burdens and to cheer each other and encourage one another.
Our Lord, through the Holy Spirit, is always available to hear us and to share with us and we do this of course mainly through our prayer times, as friend with friend.
Like so many, I remember singing in church that lovely Hymn, written by Joseph Scriven, "What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer." (The Song Book of The Salvation Army 645 (1a)

If you are feeling lonely then call on Jesus, He is a friend beyond all friends!

I trust today will be a day of lovely friendship and fellowship for you.
God bless you!

"A man who would be friendly must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticketh closer than a brother." Proverbs 18: 24.
