NOT ALONE

Greetings dear friends!
I woke this morning and realised that I had promised to prepare and cook the breakfast for family, so to work. Bacon, eggs, baked beans on toast is our breakfast with tea or coffee.
We do enjoy the food and of course the most important thing about this time is the lovely fellowship of the family all coming together and enjoying each others company.
The rest of the day was spent in each one finding their particular task to do and we then settled own to enjoy the evening in our own particular way.
The day went fairly quickly and as I reflect it was just wondeful being together.
I am also wondering about those who feel lonely as they went through today, some perhaps have spent today as the first day of a week-end without a loved one, maybe there have been some who have gone on holidays or a particular work job and had to go alone, not a pleasant experience, maybe for some.
This led me to remember that Jesus told His disciples that He was going away and that even though this was the case they would not be left on their own, He would send the Comforter, The Holy Ghost to be with them.
You know in this statement, Jesus reveals that He does not want any of His people to be on their own, He knows what it is like to feel lonely and isolated, and in His feeling for His people never wants them to go through the same experience, to me at least, this is wonderful.
The oppportunity to share someones feeling through the "blog program" is another way of companionship and so at this moment if you were happening to feel alone, take it from me you are not alone, the Lord is with you!
One of the beautiful word pictures in Scripture tells of a pray time of Jesus, you may read it for yourself in John 14, but here is one verse that blesses me; "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever." John 14: 16
We used to sing these words at church, "Constantly abiding, Jesus is mine, Constantly abiding, Rapture divine, He will never leave me lonely, He whispers O so kind, " I will never leave thee Jesus is mine!'"
