Greetings to you!
I have been thinking of the saying that says, "Seeing is believing!" I thought about this statement when I read a profile of the Founder William Booth on a web site this morning. The site says that William Booth born 1929 Died 1916.
Well as far as I recall and in the history of The Salvation Army William Booth was 'Promoted to Glory' in the year 1912.
In this regard seeing is not believing!
I went the other day to Marysville and saw the devestation that was horrific and then as I travelled along the highway to see the new growth on the burnt out blackened trees was truly incredible, in fact if I had not seen it with my own eyes I may not have believed it possible so quickly.
This morning I read the account of the disciple Thomas who stated; "Unless I see in His (Jesus) hands the prints of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe!" John 20: 25 (b)
Now in a sense I can understand, but what Thomas was saying was, "Seeing is believing!"
I remember asking a patient in the spinal unit at the Austin Hospital on one occasion what was the most wonderful thing he had seen, his replied stunned me as he said, A life changed by the power of the Holy Spirit!"
Well as I have seen what God has done in my life, I cannot help but believe He is a most powerful and wonderful God and then to see and hear the testimonies of others, "seeing is believing" God can do miracles.
Yes today I say, "My God how great Thou art"; The song/hymn, gives the reason, "I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed.: Then sings my soul, my Saviour God ,to Thee: How great Thou art!" (Author Carl Boberg - 1859-1940)
Have you today discovered how great is our God? Look around and see what He has done and then you will not be able surely to do anything else but believe Him.
"I would have lost heart, unless I had believed, that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." Psalm 27: 13.
